  • Question

  • Hi,

I created a All in One Media Boot USB Boot using MDT 2012 U1, so it works without having to connect to our MDT server, but when I take it to another building it fails when running a step to query a network drive saying stating that the "network path was not found", and the computer is left in a weird state and is joined to the domain, where I cannot even map to any network shares manually, but it images fine in our office. has anyone ran into this same issue before.

    Thanks,

    Bobby

  • Is the step a custom step and did you configure it to Continue on Error?  If you cannot map to network shares manually, can you validate that all drivers were loaded successfully?

  • Hi DC,

Yes I have several custom steps after restore groups, and two of them are to map to a network drive which is where the error occurs, stating that ir cannot find the network path, and I did check device manager to see if the drivers were all installed and it did, it was even joined to the domain. I am thinking this is some sort of permissions problem, but why would it work at the other office not there.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  • Can you put a Pause step right before those tasks and try it manually and see what happens?  Also, if it's a different building, could it be DNS... did you fully qualify the network path you are mapping to?
