What is the System Center Secure Reference Overrides Management Used for? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have installed a 3rd Party management pack within my environment which I am now trying to remove, but when I do it comes up with the following prompt.

"Following Management Packs depend of the management pack you are trying to delete. Please delete the following management packs manually first.

    Microsoft.SystemCenter.SecureReferenceOverride"

I haven't placed any overrides within this management pack so I am unsure why it would be referencing it. Can someone tell me what this management pack is used for?

  • Microsoft.SystemCenter.SecureReferenceOverride contains a RunAs Accounts you've created. Check a RunAs Profiles in your management pack to find this account.

  • Hello Hendy,

Microsoft.SystemCenter.SecureReferenceOverride Management Pack is automatically created by SCOM server.

When a Run As Configuration is set in SCOM R2, a new MP is created or, when already in place because sometime a Run As Configuration has been set before, that very same MP is altered. The MP is the Microsoft.SystemCenter.SecureReferenceOverride MP.

For further information, see the article below:
