Windows live messenger taking up two 'slots' on the taskbar RRS feed

  • Question

  • Basically, http://i41.tinypic.com/2urb9fq.png . Where the red stuff is. Is there anyway to fix this? I find it annoying that there are two 'slots' when you only need one.

  • Scalepad,

On your start menu, right click on the messenger icon and choose properties. Go to the compatability tab and set it to run in Vista SP2 mode. Then when you start it up, it will not take 2 spots.

  • Awesome although given that Windows Live is a Microsoft product, I would have thought that all products would already support Win7 without a requirement to operate in compatiblity mode. In any case, this fixed it for me. Ta
