Rebalance Storage Pool in DPM 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • So my first storage pool disk filled up, I provisioned another lUN to the VM and added it to DPM, however, now 1 disk in the pool has 0% unallocated and 1 disk is 95% unallocated.  Is there a way to get DPM to balance the storage more evenly?  If I ever wanted to manually move a replica and recovery point volume, is there a way to do this?  Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

Yes, you can use the DPM powershell script - see Using MigrateDatasourceDataFromDPM

Here is a GUI version to make it easier.

However, there is no need to do that, DPM will continue working and use the 2nd disk you added to the storage pool when needed.
