Using Legacy Tools in Design mode in the Header RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to create a form using word 2010. I know enough to make a form using the Design mode, however, I cannot figure out how to create a tab in the header to be able to make it a text fill in section.

  • You are not allowed to put form fields inside the header or footer. You might be able to put ActiveX controls there, but note that these are more difficult to deal with (because they are likely to trigger macro security warnings).

If you want to repeat content from a field in the header (or footer), you can apply a unique style to the field and reference it by inserting a STYLEREF field in the header. See http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/StyleRef.htm#FormField.
