NAP with 802.1x RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the configuration guide document on the Microsoft website regarding NAP and 802.x. the , domain controller is listed as Windows 2003 Server. Will the same configuration work  if instead of the domain controller being Windows 2003, I use Longhorn Build 5600 as my domain controller and I run Active Directory and the Root Certificate Authority on Longhorn.

NAP with DHCP seems to works even if  the DC is Longhorn and I was therefore wondering if the same setup would work as well with NAP and 802.1x also.

Would appreciate your feedback if anybody has tested this .

    Thanks .

  • Hi Mohammed,

LHS build 5600 should work fine as your DC in the 802.1X scenario.  Just set up the user account with the same permissions as described for Server 2003, and configure the certification authority role similarly as well. Let me know if you run into any problems.
