When is DPM 2019 UR1 going to be released????? RRS feed

  • Question

  • IT'S VERY ANNOYING THAT I HAVE TO REBOOT MY DPM SERVERS AT LEAST DAILY BECAUSE OF THE VHD MOUNT ISSUE!!!!  The last UR was released for 2016 but not 2019.  The entire Windows Server 2019 platform to me has been a beta quality experience at best.

  • Hi,

There’s no exact release date, but I believe Update Rollup 1 for DPM 2019 should be released within a month.

If you have any support agreement with Microsoft you might want to raise a ticket directly to Microsoft, they may be able to provide you with assistance or a private fix.

    Best regards,

    Leon

  • That's a very long time to wait for this fix. I'll try the support route, but it hasn't worked on the other severe issues I've had with Windows Server 2019.

  • It’s the best you can do for now I’m afraid.

  • If I gave this type of service to my customers, I would have none.

  • I have a support contract, but MS doesn't provide a private fix for it. They told me to wait for the next update.

This issue was actually also present in DPM 2016, but fixed in april of this year. Actually since the release of DPM 2019, DPM 2016 has had already 2 update releases but none for 2019.

I feels like MS is abandoning ship and leave everyone else on it to drown.

  • From my open support cases, I suspect they still are having ReFS related problems and do not have a good way to solve them.  How many years has this been going on now?

  • Hi Simdoc,

I agree ReFS is far from completely fixed but at least it's an improvement after many years of struggling.

I also have a case open for the ReFS performance degradation but now I opened a case with the Windows team and they seem to have picked this up.
