SCCM 2012 setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, will be installing SCCM 2012 and I'm starting to install prerequisites like BITS, RDC, etc. I actually based my setup instructions on this link:

    http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4045-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-guides

One thing I've noticed is that in setting up SCCM 2007 I still need to install webdav publishing but I dont see this in the instructions to install SCCM 2012.

Am I missing something? or just proceed with this?

    Thanks

    Jeff

  • Issue solved, when I created the instance name, it will automatically assigned dynamic ports which is not allowed in SCCM 2012 setup, What I did was delete any "0" or dynamic ports and configured a static port.

But when I continued the setup, it now requires me a cumulative update 9 on SQL Server 2008 >.<

I have to download it first,

    Thanks guys for all replies

  • I don't think that is required,

Webdav is an addition of the web server role. Its part of the Common Http Features.

Just to be sure you know, you do not need webdav for SCCM 2012. (and that is good news)

please move ur post to CM12 forum,

  • Webdav is no more used in CM12. WebDAV is a protocol -- actually its an HTTP extension -- its not a component. In ConfigMgr 2012, the product team chose to implement this extension internally to the product instead of relying of the Windows Server component/feature that also implements this extension. Thus, even if you install the Windows server WebDAV feature, it will not be used.

what do I choose for the Database Engine Configuration? Is it Windows Authentication? or Mixed Mode?

    and

For the Reporting Services Configuration? is it native?

  • I'm in the process of installing SCCM2012 when it asked for the instance name I'be setup on SQL Server 2008 R2. As I recall, instead of leaving it to default, I switched it to instance name and I've input: SCCM

but for some reason it is bringing up an error message saying:

I also tried leaving it blank but still same error. The account I'm using is a domain admin and local admin as well. Tried opening up SQL Management Studio and I can connect to SCCM instance name.
