  • Question

  • Dear reader,

    After a troublesome setup of file access on uag SP2, I do not see the domain and server/shares when I log on using my test account. The screen only shows the network item.

    First question is, how can I troubleshoot file access. The web monitor only tells me I succesfully launched file access.

    My env. is a root domain, with two child domains. The child domain are resource and customer. So the users reside in de customer domain and the shares on the resource domain. I can see both domains and the servers it contains on the file access config screen in UAG management console. Netbios and everything you need for file access is in place.

    I have configured the file access auth tab to use SSO and selected the "filesharing" server that is automatically generated. I have pointed the "filesharing" auth object to point to the domain controller that resides in the customer domain. (use a different server for portal app. auth.) The default setting however results in the same problem. Can only see the network icon.

    I also selected the "Use domain controller setting for home directories", but the home folders do not show up.

    I also tried it with the "show mapped drives" option and created a batch script that I attached to my test user in ad. Also without any result.

    best regards.

  • Found it. The shareaccesscfg.xml contains a faulty line:

    <site port="0" site-name="localhost" ip="::1" auth="0">
    This causes the issues where people couldn't see any server when they would log in. On the UAG server it worked, using http://localhost:6001/FileSharing.
    Changing this settings to:
    <site port="0" site-name="" ip="" auth="3">

    Found this solution on:

    and worked for me.

  • Hi Ruud,

    did you already configure resources to be accessed from the File Access Feature inside of the UAG Management console?

    Workgroup/Domain as well as Servers and Shares which are available to be accessed should be configured in there.

    Regards

  • Yes, did all that. Also checked that the xml contains the right values. And added some hidden shares to the xml, which also show up on the File Access Feature in the UAG management console.
