Reverse Proxy _ UAG and Lync RRS feed

  • Hi,

UAG will not support Mobility component. it will work for other Lync external web services. Since Microsoft doesn't have a product to officially replace the TMG, the replacement will be a 3rd party publishing capable Firewall.

  • What about using IIS?

  • Both your links are correct. Lync mobility will work with Forefront UAG and it isn't supported by Microsoft.

I have seen Microsoft write a recent blog about IIS AAR as a replacement for Forefront TMG: http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2013/02/19/using-iis-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy-for-lync-server-2013.aspx

You could also look at a solution like Citrix NetScaler or Palo Alto which can both provide reverse proxy or SSL inspection.
