Hybrid server thru Barracuda in Migration to O365 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Migrating Exchange 2007 to O365. Using Hybrid option deployment, and have right now barracuda. is there anything different that I need to do to configure the hybrid exchange server 2013? Does the hybrid server still need a public IP?

Regarding the autodiscover.xyz.com, the A record Public dns is the public Ip for mail.xyz.com domain.

  • You can continue to route your inbound mail through the Barracuda with a hybrid configuration.  This way, nothing changes.  But that may not be the best for you since Exchange Online Protection does pretty much the same thing, so maybe it's best to take your on-premises devices and servers out of mail routing.

Yes, the hybrid server needs its own IP address, and you should NOT configure hybrid mail flow between Exchange Online and your on-premises Exchange hybrid server to go through the Barracuda because it'll likely break everything or at the least be far more complicated to configure.
