MSHTA.EXE with IE10 Standards Mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can I use MSHTA.EXE with IE10 Standards Mode. The Metatag X-UA-COMPATIBLE IE=10 and X-UA-COMPATIBLE IE=EDGE both disable the HTA:APPLICATION-tag. Is this a bug and how to override it.

  • Hi,

you shouldn't publish hta files to a web server and use hyperlinks in web pages to launch them. Deploy them to a shared folder, create MSI files to install the link folder to clients or to add command buttons to the IE command bar button.
