unable to open any network computer shared folders from my windows xp sp3 box. RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I have windows xp sp3 box . I have wireless adapter in that one. When I i am trying to access any xp machine in my local network  by typing \\networkcomputername   it is giving an error that the network path was not found. But I am able to ping the the networkcomputername .

    I tried by removing antivirus also.

    Could you please any body help me on this one.

  • are these computers in a workgroup? is file and printer sharing enabled?

  • No, I am trying to access a domain server. My windows 7 laptop is in windows workgroup. And there are another 25 systems which is in windows workgroup. I am able to access all other systems in the work group and also all the 25 systems is able to access that domain server(file server) running os is windows serer 2003.


    But I am able use remote desktop of that domain server (file server) .
