    When I save a WORD filename.doc or filename.docx file in filename.htm format, WORD creates a directory called filename_files. Can that feature be turned off? It serves no purpose that I can see, at least for me.

     

    P.S. Even though I checked the "Alert me when someone responds to this post" box in this forum, I don't ever get alerted. Why is that?

    The folder contains data that cannot be included in the html file, like settings in xml format, images and other binary data. If you don't want to save this, just try the filtered html format.
