List - Checkboxes to be hyperlinked RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to activate the text of checkbox title as a hyperlink?

    In Sharepoint 2010 we have an option of using checkboxes for lists, can we hyperlink the title for the checkboxes?

    Kindly suggest if there is a javascript for it or any other way possible.

    Thanks in advance for the guidance,

  • Hi,

    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to activate the text of checkbox title as a hyperlink.
    We can add the following code into a Content Editor Web Part in the NewForm.aspx page and EditForm.aspx page.

    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
            $(function () {
                $(".ms-RadioText > label").each(function(){
                    $(this).html("<a href='http://"+$(this).text()+"'>"+$(this).text()+"</a>");
                });
            });
    </script>

    Result:

    We can also customize a field type using visual studio 2010 to meet your requirement.

  • Hi Romeo,

    Can you please help me by specifying the steps after opening the list in Sharepoint designer 2010?

    I am a little new to it. How would I navigate to the field where I can change the title of the Checkbox?

    I would be highly grateful if you could help please.

  • Hi Bala,

    I require the Checkbox column having 5 to 6 entries to be linked to the respective pages. I need the checkboxes in the list to have freedom of selecting the various necessary fields.

    Thanks for the reply.
