How do I add the Enterprise field 'Project Number' to the reports? RRS feed

  • Every project has a Enterprise field called Project number. It is filled in when projects are created and I can see it is being filled in by creating a view in the project centre. It is a 'Project' 'Text' field with 'required' behaviour

    How do I get it into the reports in the Business Intelligence suite - I'm looking at reports in the data connections area. I cannot see the custom field listed in the Excel pivot tables.

    I cannot see it listed as either a cube dimension or as a cube measure when Configuring the cube.

    How do I make sure the custom fields are included: I want to be able to see the fields I add in report.

    Trying to stop the swap to Salesforce - but the errors keep a coming

  • Hi Andrew,

    Are you using SQL Server or Analysis Service as data source for your report?

    If you are using an OLAP database as a source, you need to include this enterprise project custom text field to the cube database. You can do that in the OLAP configuration in Server Settings in Project Server 2010 or in Application Configuration/Project Server in the SharePoint Central Admin in Project Server 2013. Then execute the cubes again and this field will appear as a dimension.

    If you are using SQL Server it should appear for instance in a view called MS_ProjectUserView inside the ProjectServer_Reporting database in Project Server 2010 .

    Free text fields are not available in OLAP cubes for reporting http://i.msdn.microsoft.com/dynimg/IC159794.gif

    In this case, you will have to directly query the Reporting Database.
