  • Can you hit the site via IP?

If so, in the hosts file (likely in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc) on your client machine, map the IP to the name you want to use. eg:

    111.22.33.44       http://sp2.nicpartnersinc.com

If it works, it sounds like a DNS issue. Might also want to check IIS > Advanced Web Site Identification to see if there's a host header value there that's interfering.

  • Hi,

Try extending the webapplication to the appropriate zone and then create AAM.

  • Sorry i forgot to mention that we tried your suggestion. It won't let us configure it that way. We have to change the URL  from http://nicp-sp2/nicportal to http://sp2.nicpartnersinc.com. How do you do that?

    Thanks again

  • I also forgot to mention that this is the Site Collection, not just a site.
