Expense for moving 2012 to 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know my question falls in Licensing category.

We're runnining in SCCM 2012 and planninig to migrate to 2012 R2.

Can I upgrade it for free of cost or get it for a discount price as I'm using 2012 already?

  • R2 is not free. It's a paid "add on".
Why not moving to CM current branch instead?

  • You need to contact a licensing partner for pricing for your organization. Moving to 2012 R2 makes no sense though as that product is old and has been replaced by ConfigMgr CB as Torsten points out.

  • Paid 'add on" means, I don't have to pay for whole software, but I need pay the price of that add-on alone. Is that how it is?

Where can I see the price differences fresh purchase and add on ?

Why not moving to CM current branch instead? - Yes I'll even consider that after seeing the price differences.

    Thanks in advance
