unable to open file from sharepoint 2007 site in windows explorer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having an issue with mapping the network drive for sharepoint.
Although the mapping is done & I can view the sharepoint as window explorer, when trying to open a file, it looks for the file under "SSL/DavWWWWRoot/ " & not directly on the sharepoint site.
Due to this I receive an error stating "could not open Http://SSL/DavWWWWRoot"
I checked this out in other members of my team & those who still has windows XP & not windows 7 can access to the windows explorer view, the error only exists for Windows 7

  • Hi,

Instead of mapping it as a network drive you can use the alternative to open it in explorer view.

This works in the similar way.

  • If the problem is that you are not able to open library in explorer view then this problem because of your browser Activex  Control.
