  • Hi iSteveJ,

As per my knowledge, this isn't possible because your Office 2016 license is perpetual (meaning the license is yours forever) where the Office 365 is subscription (meaning you need to renew) based.

Secondly, Office 2016 is only a suite of few, while Office 365 itself also includes (on some edition) the SharePoint, Skype for Business, One Drive, and Exchange.

this is still based on my knowledge, you can check with Microsoft too.

    Hope this helps.

  • I would agree with <Manoj> that you will not be able to directly convert the Office 2016 perpetual license to Office 365 subscription. They are using two different license mechanisms.

If you need further clarification on this, you might want to contact Microsoft Customer Service via:

    http://support.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers

A Microsoft representative should be able to provide more information or other options.

    Hope this helps.

  • Dear Steve,

This can be done by Microsoft probably. I think its related with license. You can contact with Microsoft subscription team.
