Installing the dpm 2010 client on a TMG 2010 server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anybody had sucess with installing/configuring the dpm client on TMG server.

Have been trying with little sucess to get this running.

-agent installs with no problems on TMG

-setdpmserver runs sucessully to point TMG to DPM

-created TMG rule to allow ports according to KB article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb808766.aspx

-DPM is still unable to communicate with dpm client on TMG

I'll continue troubleshooting this, however, if anyone is able to provide a screenshot/description of the Access rule to create in TMG that would be fantastic. Or any other alternatives to get this working.

  • Hi,

    having the same problem here.

I did the steps discribed from Mike's link but the connection between dpm and tmg isn't working yet.

I also watched the new video at the dpm blog where they want to show how things could work, but they don't. (http://blogs.technet.com/b/dpm/archive/2010/12/06/new-video-tmg-setup-for-dpm-communication.aspx)

    My Firewallrule:

Allow access from local host, dc1, dc2, dpm to local host, dc1, dc2, dpm

    LDAP

    Netbios TCP 445 outgoing

    Netbios Datagram

    Netbios-nameservice

    Netbios-session

At the dpm side I get error code 0x8099090E.

    Any hints?

    Thanks in advance,

    André

  • Same problem,

    Can anyone help?

Is it necessary to modify register for dynamic ports 50000-50050 on dpm or on ps.

    Please help

  • Hi,

I had success installing the agent properly on the tmg.

Please follow this blogpost ( http://msmvps.com/blogs/wssra/archive/2010/10/20/configure-the-forefront-tmg-2010-to-allow-dpm-2010-communication.aspx) and configure all registry entries on the tmg and the dpm server as well.

Restart machines and it worked. :-)

    Cheers,

    André
