Icons on the related items in the POL browser schedule... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

If you add a risk as a related item to a task (in the POL schedule browser view) you can see the yellow triangle next to that task.

However, nothing appears if the related item is a document or a list item in the project site.  I am missing something?  If not, is there any way to identify if a task has anything related to it.

    Many thanks

    James

  • Hi,

unfortunately, you are not missing something. Only risks and issues are displayed with an indicator. I am not aware of any way to show this information.

    Regards
    Barbara

  • Hi James,

Issues and Risks icons will appear at the Project level in the project center and at task level in the schedule PDP if you use the related item feature to link that task item to the issue or risk item. Document icons will only appear at the project level even if you use the related item feature to link the task item to the document item. THis changes in Project Server 2013 / Project Online when the object link provider feature changed. Brian Smith covered this here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/projectsupport/2014/05/23/project-server-2013-links-to-issues-risks-and-documents/

    Hope that helps

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul.  It's a bit pants there is no indication that it's a related item when not a Risk or Issue.
