Outlook 2016 Freezing and having many other issues RRS feed

  • Just installed Office 2016 and set it up for with 4 gmail accounts. The performance is remarkably slow with frequent freezes - some lasting for minutes. Inbound mail is often delayed by up to 10 minutes and sent items show up in the sent folder twice for each message sent. Also rules aren't working properly. They seem to work sometimes and not others. I'm looking for guidance about what might be wrong.

    How do you configure your Gmail account? IMAP or POP?

    In case the issue lies on the account quantity, please try creating a new profile and then add one account first to check the result.

    This issue usually occurs due to incorrectly account settings for IMAP account. If you are using IMAP account, please go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings. Double click your account and choose More Settings. Under Advanced tab, unselect the option "Do not save copies of sent items”.

    Does it happen to all rules or some specific rules? What's the content of these rules?

    Please first check if there is any conflict between your Outlook rules, such as you have emails that meet the condition of two or more rules.

    If above doesn't help, we may also try removing problematic rules and recreating them again to see the result.

    What’s more, if issue continues, we could also repair Office suit to see if there are any improvements. To do this, please go to Control Pane > Programs and Features. Right click your Office suit. Click Change and then click Repair.
