Vista pauses/freezes intermittantly whilst loading.

Question
-
After the log in screen, my computer sometimes freezes on the Windows loading screen, or on a black screen after the loading screen. Sometimes it will recover after about half an hour, sometimes it wont. Often i have to force it to shut down and then restart. Sometimes it will repeat this over and over, sometimes it will load straight through to windows. It will however log into windows safe mode everytime that is tried.
i had a browse through the Event log to see if anything struck me as wrong ( i have little experience in this field) There seem to be a few Kernel WHEA errors relating to the times i have had problems. Could these refer to the problems? i will post two which have occurred whilst trying to start today.

Any help, advice or information on further diagnostics would be great thankyou.
Thanks.

Hi Jon,
The errors reported by WHEA indicate that a Machine Check Exception which is a Hardware Error occurred.
For further information about WHEA, click the link below:WHEA - Windows Hardware Error Architecture

Make sure that all adapters stay in good contact with the motherboard and the cooling system works properly. If this doesn't help, you'd better work with the hardware manufacturer to find out the root cause.Thanks.
