CloudBackup/Operational Event Log can't be found RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

Well, it can. I can see the Log in Event Viewer, I can see all of the Events written there succesfully, so far so good:

However when I try to list it in Powershell, it can't be found. Neither by the name CloudBackup (?) or CloudBackup/Operational:

The other Event Logs is found:

As in the Registry, but the CloudBackup Log isn't there:

Is it somehow known by another name? Has anyone else noticed this?

The reason why Im posting this is that Im using SC Operations Manager to monitor events from Event Logs to raise alerts in SCOM whenever there's an error. I've been doing this for various applications and logs for a couple of years and it has worked fine every time until I ran across this CloudBackup log.

  • Hi RonHextall,

You would have to use Get-WinEvent cmdlet. For illustration, please see below screenshot.

    Hope this helps!! Cheers!!

  • Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

That works, however when I manually try to insert a custom event to the log Windows can't find it:

  • Oh, and writing -LogName CloudBackup without any kind of quotation marks makes no difference.
