Scheduling emails so they go later RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

I'm aware that we can schedule emails to go later, but when we do, the email still shows the time that the email was originally created.

Is there a way of scheduling so that when an email is sent it shows as the time it was actually sent?

Many thanks in advance of any help.

  • Hi,

Are you using Outlook client? What's the type of your account? POP, IMAP, or Exchange?

According to my test, if you are using Exchange Online mode to schedule emails to go later, the messages are directly submitted to the Exchange mailbox. Therefore, the "Sent Time" time stamp information for that message is the time that the message was submitted to the mailbox on Exchange, not the actual time that it was delivered to the recipient.

But if you are using Exchange cached mode or a no-Exchange account, the mails in the Sent Items will show the time it was actually sent. This is by design.

So if you'd like to set the mail scheduled to go later show the time it was actually sent, please start your Outlook in cached mode.

    Hope this can be helpful.
