Windows media player wont play .MOV flies RRS feed

  • ok my problem is i was trying to view a video i just imported from my camera and when windows media player popped up it said:

    The selected file has a extension (.MOV) that is not reconignized by windows media player.then it said it might so i cliked try then another messgae popped up and said:

    windows media player can not support this file.the player might not support the file type or the codec was used to compress the file.

    HELP ME!!!!

  • This may be because the required codecs to play the .mov file are missing.

    Download this and install only the Codecs (not the player. You get this option in a drop-down during installation):
    http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm. Just to be safe, also scan the file before installation.

    After the codecs installation, it plays all files - avi, mov, flv, mkv, etc. Hope it helps!
