Skype for Business Online Conferencing Policy RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to change my online conferencing policy. But the command below does not update the policy. When I run the get-csuser command it doesn't show any policy set for conferencing policy for my account.

    Grant-CsConferencingPolicy -identity "name@domain.com" -PolicyName "name"

    WARNING: Object with identity
    "CN=,OU=,OU=,DC=,DC=" was not changed.

    We currently have a hybrid setup and I am homed online.

  • Yes I see all of the online policies. Is it because I am trying to apply one of the built-in online policies?

    I have just created a new client policy and applied it to my account ok.

  • Make sure you're using the online PowerShell module, and do it from a machine that's never had the Skype for Business or Lync Server admin tools installed.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn362829(v=ocs.15).aspx

    It may be trying to assign a local policy instead of a new cloud-created one, or it's defaulting to the local admin tool module command over the online one, which won't work.

  • I am running the following before the grant command. Should this not work?

    $credential = Get-Credential

    $Session = New-CsOnlineSession -Credential $credential

    Import-PSSession $Session -AllowClobber

  • That should work and import the online cmd. If you run:

    CsConferencingPolicy -ApplicableTo sip:name@domain.com | ft Identity

    Do you see your Skype Online policies then?
