ForeFront Client Service stops under Vista Ultimate (x64) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since two weeks my ForeFront Client Service seems to stop. The following error is reported - also see detailed [1]:

Microsoft Forefront Client Security engine has been terminated due to an unexpected error.

    Failure Type: Crash

    Exception code: 0xc0000005

    Resource: file:\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\SysWOW64\lmxp32.dll

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate (x64) on a Dell D620. I seem to have exactly the same problem on my home PC - same error - that machine also runs Windows Vista Ultimate (x64) on ABit AT8 32X. Both machines have 4GB Ram.

When I re-start the service it works for about 50 seconds and then stops again.

    Anybody have any idea?

    thanks,
