DPM Encryption Certificate Template RRS feed

  • Question

  • There are some basic procedures outlined for adding Encryption Certificates to DPM on the 'net. Most of these suggest using IIS.

Does anyone have a DPM Certificate Template that works?

  • Hi,

If you are dealing with an organization that uses a Windows CA, have them issue a certificate based on the "Web Server" Template.
If you are dealing with an organization that uses another vendors CA, request that they issue you a certificate with the following:
Key Usages = Digital Signature, Non-Repudiation, Key Encipherment, Data Encipherment
Extended Key Usage = Server Authentication

  • Don't forget you need the key with the certificate in DPM if you are running 2012 sp1
