Exchange 2016 - how to forward and then delete all email in everyone's junk email inbox RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to find a way to create a script or rule to have everyone in the company automatically forward the emails to another user and then clear the junk email folder.

We are using Exchange 2016 and Outlook 2010-2019 on desktops

  • Hi PaulCopsey,

We can create transport rule or inbox rule to help us forward messages.

For deleting mails in junk folder automatically, we can using retention policy including the tag (delete and allow recovery / permanently delete when the item reach the following age) and assign it to users' mailboxes.

Detailed information about Retention tags and retention policies in Exchange Server

  • Unfortunately Report Message add-in is not available for on-premise exchange server users. So

You can either create a transport rule which inspects the SCL rating and then forward the email to admin and end users.

Like Joyce mentioned create Retention Policy and tags to delete the emails from Junk folder
