Project Standard 2013 - Master scheduling RRS feed

  • Question

  • If i have ms project standard 2013 (ie not professional edition) can i still do master scheduling?

example - if i save all project schedules into a shared drive can i

    - share resources?

    - see project schedule updates in the portfolio schedule?

    - share anything else?

or does this require the professional edition of project?

    thanks

  • Can do with standard version.

Make a file called "My Resources". No tasks, just the resources listed in the resource sheet. Start with Nikki.

Make a file called "project1". Two tasks A and B, any duration, no resources, links as predecessor and successor.
Resources tab, resource pool, share resources, get resources from "My Resources"
    Assign Nikki etc.
    Save.

Make a file called "project2". Same. Identical except tasks named C and D.
Resources tab, resource pool, share resources, get resources from "My Resources"
    Assign Nikki etc.
    Save

Make a file called "My Projects". No tasks, no resources.

    Select line 1.
    Project tab, subproject,  etc.

    Done.
