SPD Workflow - Cannot insert task process action RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I created new Project Site under PWA "Project Web Application" then created custom list under it. Using SPD, i created list workflow and Now i'm trying to start Approval Process but it always displays

"Cannot insert this action. to use task process actions, the Office SharePoint Server Standard Site features must be enabled for this site by an administrator"

I'm sure the Office SharePoint Server Standard Site features are enabled.

    I'm using SharePoint Enterprise Edition

    Any Help

    Thanks

  • Are you sure the server standard site features (not the site collection server standard features) are enabled? These are not the same and it may confuse a little. You could double-check under site actions - site settings - site actions (sic)/manage site features.

  • Hi ,

I understand that when you add the ‘Start Approval process’ and there is always an error .What is your SharePoint Designer edition ? When designing workflows in SharePoint Designer, some workflow actions that are not supported in Office 365 for professionals and small businesses are displayed .These actions include ‘Start Approval Process’ . No workaround is available. To use these SharePoint workflow actions, you must have Office 365 for enterprises .

If you are not using Office 365 .Then you should check the site collection features ,site features and site feature in central administration .

For more detailed information about the unsupported actions ,please refer to this site:

  • Hi  ,

The PWA means an application name in the above post .You can enable Workflow feature by opening the site collection homepage of the web application. Then choose Site Actions>Site Settings>Site Collection Features .Then enable Workflow feature .

    Thanks,

  • after activate the workflow feature, I have to save the workflow, close the site in SharePoint Designer 2013, reopen the site in designer, for it to take effect.
