  • Question

  • Good day Sharepoint Guru's,

i have a major dilemma here. i cant access sharepoint Central Admin Console address is http://[servername]:27836. When i try connect to it i get a HTTP 403 error saying the website declined to show this webpage. it looks like its not pulling the credentials from the AD but i have no clue about IIS and how to config that.

    OS: Windows Server Standard 2008

    Sharepoint: WSS 3.0 (i think)

When this error started: when the technician setup this Sharepoint about 2 years ago we weren't told about this error

  • Hi,

Go for an IISRESET and even if it does not fixes your issue then execute sharepoint config wizard.

this wizard you can get under administrative tools in your server.

I hope this will help you out.

  • Here is what I would do,

    1. Check IIS (Start -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services) to see if SharePoint Central Administration web site and associated application pool is started

    2. Check Eventlogs and ULS logs for any errors.
