Upgrade to DPM 2012 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 non-R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everybody,

we are in the process of upgrading everything to Windows Server 2012, SQL 2012, Exchange 2013 and so on. Our DPM box is still running Windows Server 2008 x64, and we successfully upgraded it to DPM 2012 RTM (still on Server 2008). Now the questions:

    a) In the MSDN Subscriber Downloads, I can only find DPM 2012 with SP1, but not a standalone SP1 package. Is there one? Or should we install DPM 2012 with SP1 over DPM 2012 RTM? Is DPM 2012 SP1 supported on Server 2008 (non-R2) at all?

    b) Is it supported to in-place upgrade the operating System from Windows Server 2008 x64 to Windows Server 2012 on the DPM box?

    c) May we uninstall SQL Server 2008 on the DPM 2012 server, as that installed a new instance of SQL Server 2008 R2?

I could not find answers on TechNet and elsewhere on the net, so any clarification is highly welcome.

    Best Regards, Stefan Falk
