Windows Update Checking Forever on Windows 7 after a fresh install???? (Last year or so...) RRS feed

  • Question

  • It has been very frustrating to rebuilding a Windows 7 desktops last year or so.  After the installation of Windows7 Home or Pro SP1 disks click on Check Updates and it could run for 2 days before it lists the 240 updates to install.  Anyway to speed this up?  I know Microsoft wants us to use Windows 10 but some businesses and older home hardware have to have Windows 7.  I wish and hope this torcher will stop soon and Microsoft comes up with a fix.  Any help is appreciated!!!  Thanks!!!
