USB Root Hub Power Management setting RRS feed

  • Question

  • I built a POSReady 2009 image on a reference computer having a Pentium E5300 CPU. Unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option for all the USB Root Hub listings in Device Manager. Sysprep and saved the image. Downloaded image to ref computer and verify all image settings OK. Downloaded image to same mbd having Celeron 440 CPU. All the USB Root Hub listings are backed to default, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option is checked. Any comments on why changing CPU would change this option's setting? Thanks, Paul

  • The change in processor might have signaled a change in the HAL, which could affect the power state information. Does the Pentium support hyperthreading and the Celeron doesn't? If you install POSReady on the Cerleron do you see the same Computer device in Device Manager?
