Any information about On the wire compression ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Just wanted to know if someone had some information about the on-the-wire compression available when you protect user data on laptops.

Technet just says that compression dépends on the workloads. Ok and ? Maybe someone made some time with some office files and test with and without on-th-wire compression ? I can't find any information of the gain we can have by enabling this parameter.

    Thanks for your help,

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

Office files are compressed and you may not see much reduction during initial replication.  All incremental syncs are block level changes only, so if those blocks are compressible, you may save some bandwidth.
