Win7/8 - How-to Create ISO Image of Windows 7SP1/8 with Office 2013 and Skype Integrated Into One DVD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there!

We need to create an bootable ISO or (USB is a less preferable option) which should include bare-metal installation of Windows 7 SP1/8, installation of Office 2013 and Skype. This ISO should be able to allow users to perform the following operations:

    1. Install Windows 7/8, Office 2013 and Skype to the users' bare-metal computers from one ISO (or USB).
    2. Users are able to configure Windows 7/8, Office 2013 and Skype during installation, but they need to have all on one disk if it is possible. Users also have a separate disks with the drivers for their computers and will install them later on themselves.
    3. Users will have various models of computers, but all of them have 1 physical disk which is split in 2 logical disks (partitions). Logical disk C: is at least 100 GB. There is no boot manager planned to be used.
    4. Does not include any updates which will be installed by users later.
    5. Users already have their disks with the hardware drivers specific to their computers.
    6. Installation should not join the computer to the domain. Users will be joining the computers later manually.

    Questions:

    1. Which tools need to be used? The links to the installation guides, if available, would be highly appreciated.
    2. Is the process similar for Windows SP1 and Windows 8?

Thank you very much for your time and attention in advance!

  • You could create Offline Media with both a Windows 7 SP1 WIM and Windows 8 WIM, a Task Sequence for each, and both of the applications.  When you say "configure" the applications, do you mean walk through the installation?  You could off course install both silently or unattended (or better yet, just make them part of the image along with updates).  MDT will help you do all of this.  Small screenshot walkthrough of the Offline Media here: http://msitpros.com/?p=699
