Join the Skype Meeting link disappears when opening an occurance in Outlook 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Got a user who creates a skype meeting but when viewing the occurance the join a skype meeting link disappears but when opening the series its there if that makes sense. Is this some of a trick in Outlook 2016? We recently pushed Office 2016 pro plus.  Onlly two cases has been happening.

Not sure if this is a cache mode issue or a corrupted outlook.

  • Hi,

Does this issue happen right after creating the Skype meeting? Did the user make any update to meeting before this issue happened?

Was the affected meeting created using Outlook 2016 or using an earlier version of Outlook? Do we reproduce the issue with a new Skype meeting using Outlook 2016? I noted a similar issue which happens with meetings created in earlier version of Outlook and opened in Outlook 2016.

Currently, you may try one of the following workarounds:

    1. Recreating the recurring Skype meeting – this is probably the easiest option and should prevent similar issues in the future.

    2. Copying the “Join Skype Meeting” text from the series to the occurrence (rather than creating another meeting at the same time).

    3. Sending a full update to the recurrent meeting, which will reset any changes (including text, attachments and times) done to the single occurrences, but will bring back the online meeting links."

    Regards,

  • Hi Steve,

Was supposed to meet a user but user is not in office but may need to copy the join skype meeting link from series and copy it in occurance as you mentioned. Im thinking users upgrade to office 2016 pro plus got corrupted also.

  • Hi Steve, tried repair, uncheck cache mode and recheck cache mode no dice, eventually just had users create new join skype meeting link and copy and update in series as you mentioned. Not sure what happened there from upgrade 2013 to 2016 click to run.
