Sharepoint Deployment best approach from Test to Production

Hi,

I am working on Sharepoint 2010, Ihave following customized item in my sharepoint site collection:-

1.Custom Lists abd some document librarues consist of custom List form

2. Master page custom

3. Sharepoint Designer reusable workflow

4. Timer job that will populate the custom list on daily basis(I have created speprate WSP for that, and I am writing powershell script to deploy to server.

5. Custom views with audience targetting

Client requirenment is:-

I need to deploy all these items using powershell script in one shot.

I dont have access to production, I just need to give them powershell script that will deploy all the above items to production.

I need to know what would be best deployment procedure.

Currently I am workin on dev box which consist of (Sharepoint Foundation)

Client enviornment is( Sharepoint Server 2010 Enterprise edition)

Any help will be appreciated

Hi,

Everything was fine to me till I reached the end

How is that? I recommend you try all this first on SP Server as well before you go to the client and I hope it is NOT client production.

if you can combine all in a feature or even multiple features, you can create PS script that deploys everything in its path, example web parts in controltemplates under 14.

Put everything in a folder with the script, and tell your script to copy those files, everything to where to supposed to be then run install feature then activate feature commands.

In PS you create multiple functions in one script and call each function after another and each does different job.

So that at the end, you give the client folder with files needed and in it the script and just tell your client to run the script and the script does the rest for them.
