I have about the 7 hosts. I am going to set up SCVMM server. Should I place it on the seperate physical box than the host or inside VM? Does it require the hardware virtulization in the BIOS?
SCVMM simply requires Server 2008 x64 or Server 2008 R2 (x64 only) (SCVMM v1 requires 2008, SCVMM R2 requires 2008 R2)
It can be run in a VM, it can be run on standalone hardware. You will get the best performance on hardware. This would matter if you were scaling to a large number of managed hosts (and therefore VMs)
Hardware virtualization in the BIOS is only required for Hyper-V - and there is no requirement nor recommendation for adding the Hyper-V Role to an SCVMM Server. Brian Ehlert
