Answers

    •  Open SSAS project in BIDS
    • open data source and make sure it points to modified database
    • Open Data source view
    • right click on open space and choose refresh to get all changes to any of the tables used in DSV; apply changes you want
    • deploy the cube
    • process

Once you do this in your dev machine, move it to production.

    Thanks

  • Hi Rajesh,

    Please follow below steps -

    1. If you have views on top of your physical tables which are source to the cubes you can add the newly added column there.
    2. Take the latest cube solution and open it in BIDS.
    3. Then you need to refresh your DSV so that newly added column in the underlying database is refreshed in the DSV as well. (Right click and hit Refresh..)
    4. Deploy the new cube solution to your server.

Please note, deploying cube to the production cube might break any existing functionality and you need to make sure that the changes you making is in the latest product version of cube. You also have an option to modify cube in online mode although it's quick but it's not recommended. :)

    HTH.
