Can SCM use a remote database and/or can that database be on SQL Server 2008 R2? RRS feed

  • Question

  • So two questions:

    1) Can SCM use a remote SQL Server database rather than on the local machine? So SCM is installed, for example on AppServer but the database we want it to use is installed on DBServer.

    2) Can SCM use a SQL Server 2008 R2 database rather than just SQL Server 2008?

    TIA

  • Michael;

    SCM can't use a remote database. You should be able to use 2008 or 2008 R2, but I've only been using 2008 and SQL Express, so please let us know if you encounter issues.

    How about on 3.0 version, any changes? I have SQL 2012 cluster.
