Showing Project SubTasks on Timesheet RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Project Server 2010 for timesheet submission within our team. We have high level software project, broken down in sub phases or releases then these are broken into individual sprints. When a team member assigned in the Build Team section tries to add a line to their timesheet for that project they can only do the top level task. I would like them to be able to select the actual sprint item, then they can add time per sprint for each project, with PBI or Bug items as a comment. Is this possible?

    Thanks

  • In case anyone visits this link again, the issue was that resources were not being assigned to the sub tasks. I had just built the team.

  • Hi Jenningse,

The only way you can solve this problem is making change to the project plan. You cannot add resources to summary tasks and accept the task update.

You have to apply the resources at the subtask level. So you are requested to make the project plan with sprints as the summary tasks and the other tasks as subtasks.
