Students with existing Office 365 accounts RRS feed

  • Question

  •   I hope this is the right forum for this, but here goes.

We are planning to open Office 365 accounts for our students.  These accounts will be tied to existing Active Directory accounts.  We have found that a number of our students have already signed up for Office 365, using their school email accounts.  What will happen to these existing accounts when we synchronize Office 365 with AD?  Will the accounts just go away?  Will they stay the same and the passwords just change to their school passwords?

  • Actually they will give some form of errors. However you can use the following to make sure mapping goes correct.

using smtp mapping, you can actually (in human terms) say to office 365, map this user from AD, to that account you are hosting.
