Network connections service slow start - help needed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I would like to ask for your support on a problem I encountered. I have a domain (Windows Server 2003 Standard x64) with AD and Windows XP Professional SP3 workstations.

In the last few weeks one by one, started having a problem : after logon the Netowrk Connections freezes for about 20 minutes , and if I try to restart it, it enters in stopping mode and I got "Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". After those 20 minutes the service starts and all goes fine until I shutdown the computer. If I only restart it , it starts without any problem. This happens only to a part of the computers but the number of computers increaseas every day.

I stopped Windows Firewall\ICS service, with no effect. If I start the computer in Safe Mode there is no problem with the Network Connectios service.

Scanned the computers and server with NOD32 , Bitdefender online, MBAM and Superantispyware, and nothing was detected.

    Can you please help me?

    Thank you!
