  • Question

  • Hi all,

In a SFB 2015 topology, we can only have one CMS. If you have two central sites (Site A and Site B), where both sites are enterprise edition and CMS is stored on Site A.

If I navigate to LyncFileStore\1-CentralMgmt-1\CMSFileStore\xds-master\replicas, I should see a folder for each server from Site A and site B?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Off2work,

You should see a folder for each server from Site A and site B.

About the CMS, it stores the topology information including all data and information created by topology builder, and also stores configuration and policy information of Lync.

Any Lync deployment has ONE and Only ONE master CMS stored in the Lync file store defined in the Lync Topology

Inside the replicas folder, you can find a folder for each Lync server you have in your deployment , the folder name will be the FQDN of the Lync server.

  • Thanks Eason,

I am missing FQDN of servers (Frontend and Edge) from SiteB, I can only see FQDN of servers from SiteA.

SiteB does not failback (DR) to SiteA, is this required for those folders to be created? If not what can be done to fix it?

Everything seems to work as normal, but we experience that SiteB has some issue now and then. Like responsegroup not always working and now Internal powerpoint sharing also stopped working. I described the issue here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/607bf71d-018e-488f-a9a7-ab932562f75b/we-cant-connect-to-the-server-for-presenting-right-now-error-code-141?forum=sfbfr

PowerPoint sharing was working for both SiteA and SiteB, both internal and external. Last week it stopped working for SiteB, only when on internal network. Works fine if they are from external network.

Not sure if those missing FQDN folders on fileshare has anything to do with this.

If I run get-csmanagementstorereplicationstatus, siteB servers are listed and they are up to date. Enable-cstopology and cscomputer does not give any error either.
