Tabular Model as data source for Power Query RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any plan to include the SSAS tabular model as a data source for Power Query and if so how soon?  I know you can pull it in to Power Pivot and then bring the table in but that has some issues.  If you do pull it in by first pulling it into Power Pivot, is it possible to automate renaming the columns.  They all have the tablenamecolumnnamecolumnname (i.e. CustomerCustomerNameCustomerName).

  • Connectivity to SSAS Tabular Models is one of the high-priority data sources for Power Query. We can't however share any specific timelines at this stage.

  • Hopefully it won't bring it in with columns names that include the table name, column name and column name like it does in power pivot. It's a real pain to have to rename all the columns. Thanks.
