IIS SMTP Relay and Multiple Emails RRS feed

  • Hello, we've confirmed that our email application - used for delivering bulk emails for clients - is not passing emails to recipients more than once. Each email is being passed to our IIS SMTP server for relay to SendGrid one time. However, some of the recipients are receiving 2-3 versions of the same email (with different message IDs/SMTP_IDs). Time stamps indicate that they are only 2-3 seconds apart.

    What would cause the relay server to send multiple versions of an email to a recipient. 

    I imagine that perhaps the server is not telling our email application that it's received the email and is therefore being passed to the server a second time?
